Hit-Em is a script basically developed on PHP. This script can be set to display images and text. It's installation is very easy and just unzip and upload. Customization is possible. Display can be easily changed. Number of digits can be customized,it show 00012 instead of 12,and it has some nice features. It will only count new visits.
