XML Matters: GUIs and XML configuration data description
In this tutorial author has explained about how XML is being used in the Aqua GUI of server Mac OS X and in the KDE. After collecting all information about the usage of XML on those environments. Author says that in MacOS X's Aqua GUI an XML DTD is used to manage various properties where as the KDE uses XML in several places including its build processing for KDE application, its configuration for syntax highlighting in Kate etc.
